![]() There are a number of problems with using this counter as a surrogate for shutter count: ![]() The only known mention of this tag in FujiFilm documentation is in the Camera Control SDK API Reference where it is called “Sequential Number” and used to associate RAW+JPEG pairs of the same image. It is stored in the Fujifilm Maker Notes area of the Exif metadata with a tag ID of 0x1438 and defined as a single 16 bit unsigned integer. Since an intermediate firmware release on the X-T1 the shutter count tag has been present in both RAF and JPEG files (and now also HIF files with the X-H2S). The shutter count tag (aka image count) stored within image files from FujiFilm X (and GFX) series cameras is problematic due to the way it was implemented and the way it has been interpreted online.įujiFilm publishes very limited documentation for their metadata so we can only identify useful tags through observation and inference. ![]()
